Questions & Guidance
Q. I want to do a trackday, what do I need ?
A. Firstly you will need to book the track event with the trackday organiser or race school. checkout the links page
You will need a full bike licence for most trackdays although some circuits do accept ACU licence holders. You will need one piece or two piece zip together leathers. A suitable crash helmet, gloves & boots are also required & a back protector is recommended.
Trackday organisers have a safety briefing which you must attend & these are usually around 8.00 - 8.30 am. They also require you to sign on with your driving licence & sign idemnity forms, normally prior to the briefing.
Most circuits have refreshments available, one thing I have found over the years is take plenty of water & light snacks throughout the day, to keep energy levels on an even keel, rather than a heavy lunch, which can make you tired later in the day.
Q. Where do I meet you at the circuit ?
A. I will usually get to the circuit in plenty of time so as to set up & have the bikes ready - I have a bright orange Ford Transit van - but if you can't find me on arrival - ring me on my mobile phone 07704 824782
Q. what happens if I crash the bike ?
A. we will assess the damage to the bike & deduct the estimated costs for repair from the deposit, so if the damage is just a broken lever, footpeg & minor bodywork damage, then only part of the deposit will be lost.
Q. will I be able to go out again after a crash ?
A. if the medical staff & trackday organisers have deemed you safe to proceed, then we will do what we can to repair the damage to get you back out again. We may even have another bike available for use, however, a replacement bike will require a renewed crash deposit.
Q. do you accept cheques ?
A. we do, but not on the day, we need to receive it in enough time for it to clear, which is usually about 7 working days , checkout our page on bike hire costs & payment methods to see what we offer.
Q. are your bikes available at any events other than the Hottrax dates listed ?
A. Yes , we can hire out bikes at other events with other track organisers if permitted by them to do so.
Also this is only a part time venture by us so it will depend upon our other working committments as to our availability.
Q. does the price include the trackday ?
A. No, you need to book the trackday event with the relevant trackday company. The best thing to do is to check their website or contact them to ensure the space is available in the group you want to go in - contact us to ensure availability of the bike you want to hire - we will hold it for you for 48 hours (or longer if needed) to give you time to send us a deposit & get your trackday booked.
Q. How do I pay with Paypal ?
A. go to the online booking page & click on the paypal buttons for the particular bike you wish to hire, you don't have to be registered with paypal to use the facility. Just fill in the pages with your credit/debit card details & the funds will be transferred to our account via paypal. You can also book a bike with a deposit using our paypal buttons.
Q. Do you hire bikes for half a day or sessions ?
A. we can hire a bike for half a day or an evening track event , however the crash deposit will be the same as it would be for a full day.
Q. Is there any insurance cover or liability cover included ?
A. no cover is provided for personal injury or third party liabilty claims, the crash deposit is purely to cover any damage to the bike, there are specialist insurance companies who provide such cover, we have some contact details if required on our links page
Q. what happens if the day is cancelled or abandoned after booking ?
A. If the event is cancelled at least 24 hrs in advance then we will refund the hire cost, minus any administration charges subject to method of payment.
however, if the event is cancelled at the start of the day due to extreme weather or other unforeseen circumstances, we will refund the hire charge but will have to take into account our expenses incurred, such as travelling to the circuit etc.

Once the trackday has started we cannot refund the hire cost, but if the tracktime had is very limited, i.e. only one session before event is abandoned then we will take that into account and offer a discount from another hire booking in the future, this will be negotiable depending on the circumstances.
